Emmanuel Kant once noted, "The pursuit of permanent peace is the highest goal of reason and a moral obligation." China claims to be a "responsible major power", thus it should not enable North Korea's continued militarism. The US and South Korea should support Taiwan's commitment to democracy and leading China to democratization, which would pressure North Korea in turn to adopt democracy.

A committee of the Philippine House of Representatives which investigated the illegal entry of P6.4 billion worth of "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) has recommended the dismissal of Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon for alleged "gross incompetence and corruption".
The only remedy for corruption is democracy and its tools of separation of powers and checks and balances. The heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year.In addition, committee chairs should be the pool for backup cabinet ministers. Such moves will end the kidnapping of the nation's financial overseers. Territorial disputes such as those in the South China Sea involving China and four Southeast Asian countries can only be dealt with through reasoned, rational, discussion.
China and the Philippines have a duty to act in concert with their neighboring countries. Articles 4 and 6 of the 2002 Declaration on the South China Sea include provisions designed to offer a peaceful way to resolve territorial and jurisdictional disputes. Apostasy is not a federal crime in Malaysia, but critics say the country’s increasingly conservative trajectory is threatening religious freedoms.
Article 3 of the Constitution of Malaysia states that Islam is a federal religion and that other religions can be practiced in a peaceful and harmonious manner throughout the federation. Religious freedom is subject to constitutional protection, there are no legal restrictions, and government officials have no right to interfere. Anyone can monitor government performance to ensure all offices are acting in compliance with the Constitution – and all offenders are to be punished. Power leads to corruption, and Venezuela’s presidential system is broken.. Venezuela should switch to a dual leader system; limit the president to a single 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives for 6 years and put the prime minister in charge of government operations and national defense, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. The usually peaceful Pacific island of Guam / The Washington Post

Guam is on the edge of US power in the Pacific. Its combined Navy and Air Force installation, Joint Region Marianas, is the home port for nuclear submarines, a contingent of Special Operations Forces and the launching point of flights for strategic bombers conducting rotational flights over Japanese territories and in the Korean Peninsula.
China is an enabler and agent for North Korea, and all nations should strive to avoid provoking Pyongyang. The US should back Taiwan's efforts on behalf of democracy for China and in turn, North Korea. Taiwan is the key to resolving the Korean Peninsula issue.
